TE/LB Marcus Freeman 6-3 230 4.6 St. Paul, MN (Cretin
Derham-Hall)
"Yes, I committed to Notre Dame." Marcus Freeman said. "The head
coaching vacancy wasn't that big of a deal to me.
I like Notre Dame for its tradition and the degree. With the hiring of Coach (Tyrone)
Willingham, it was a big plus.
I was going to commit to Notre Dame regardless if they hired a coach or not before signing
day but now I'm really excited.
Coach Willingham has done some great things at Stanford and I'm ready to play for
him."
Freeman was named 1st team all-state in 2001 and he's considered one of the best prospects
in the Midwest.
Marcus chose the Irish over Okalhoma, Miami (Fla.) and others.
