2013 Notre Dame Football Shamrock Series Jerseys

adidas unveiled the 2013 Notre Dame Shamrock Series uniforms on Monday.

The 2013 Notre Dame Shamrock Series uniforms have been unveiled this morning by adidas and like most of the Shamrock Series uniforms, the players, recruits and young fans are going to absolutely LOVE them while the elder Irish fans may not.

This year’s rendition is really sharp with a stylized Shamrock on the iconic Notre Dame gold helmet.  A brand new look for Notre Dame, however, will be a white on white jersey and pants combination with gold numerals.  The clean looking white jerseys will also feature a shamrock on the shoulders with green sleeves showing on the players upper arms.

adidas also released a teaser video highlighting the new uniforms as well.  We love these new jerseys and think they are actually a nice compromise from the last few years Shamrock Series jerseys that were a bit crazier and more “Oregon-ified”.  While the shamrock on the helmet is still certain to draw the consternation of some traditionalist fans, this year’s rendition are a nice happy medium between the 2011 and 2012 versions.

As long as they win, they could wear clown outfits for all I care.

Much better than last year!! The amount of grief I took as an ND fan and alum for last year’s was ridiculuous.

I am not a big fan of anything but the traditional uniform, but like this one. If ND doesn’t do this then they might lose a recruit or two, so I guess they should do it until we have the stature of Alabama. You don’t see them messing with their uniforms because winning makes a kid want to go to Alabama. Someday just maybe we won’t have to do this silliness with the uniforms.

With all that said, I think gimmick things like this sell more licensed goods. Throw back jerseys and hats in baseball and football have been very popular. So a little of this is strictly for profit. I love that because we are going to be paying 2 coaches for a few more years!

The Helmets are tacky. Stick to the old helmets and trash all this shiny faux gold. Fans are more interested in the final score. At least there were no signs of that Leprechaun to be seen. T.G. For small favors!

I really dig the gloves and am actively in pursuit of a pair.

I could see it now… I plop down in front of the telli with my nachos and brew while watching my beloved Irish, and sure enough along comes my wife who starts nagging me about mowing the grass. Instead of being distracted and getting into a verbal exchange, I can just raise my arms and put my hands together like the player in the picture.

STOP! Talk to the hands… can’t you see I got the game on!

I think the uniforms look nice, but what ND needs is a new attitude towards winning. One only needs to look at the last Championship game to realize if you can take the ball,, TAKE IT! Great strategy waiting till you are down by 28 to get the second half kick! Everybody knows yo have to have te ball to win… At least Alabama does….
