News spread quickly that Aaron Lynch had left campus and speculation ran wild for the reason why.  Brian Kelly addressed the media on Wednesday and announced that the budding star defensive end was excused from practice today to head home to “straighten out some personal matters.”  The good news is Kelly added that Lynch was expected back at Notre Dame on Monday.

“We excused him from practice today.  He needed some time to straighten out some personal matters at home,” said Kelly on Wednesday before adding, “There were rumors that he quit or transfered or went pro – all that is not true.”

Several reports have stated that Lynch got into a heated altercation in practice at the end of last week and the fight prompted him to leave campus and return to his mother’s house in Ohio.

As of now, Kelly has said that he expects Lynch back on Monday so for now there is nothing to worry about for Notre Dame fans.
