Byron Moore Ends up at USC

Byron Moore decommitted to USC about two weeks ago and named Notre Dame his leader with reportedly only LSU as the competition.  Today he ended up back with the hated Trojans according to the LA Times.

Defensive back Byron Moore Jr. of Harbor City Narbonne announced Wednesday morning he would sign with USC. It was a come-from-behind win for USC Coach Pete Carroll. Only a few weeks ago, Moore’s family announced he no longer was considering the Trojans because he was worried about playing time.

Hopefully this will help out with Jawanza Starling who will be announcing at about noon, but this is definitely a big loss for Notre Dame.  Moore is one of the most athletic safeties in the country and would have challenged for playing time very early at Notre Dame.

The fact that he ended up back at USC makes it all that much worse.  USC is also a finalist for two other Irish recruits – Starling and Manti Te’o – and there is a good chance USC could sweep us out on all three with Moore in the fold for them.

This was not the news we needed to start off the four announcements we are waiting on today.

  1. Well now we know what really happened. USC just hadnt offered ‘enough.’ Moore was a businessman. Be interested to see just what “Bush-like” incentives must have been added to get him back.
