Football players who are really focused on academics will graduate even if the school doesn't have a great academic support system.
What ND offers is resources to ensure that EVERY football player will graduate. This appeals primarily to athletes who are less academically-inclined who benefit most from our safety net of tutors, advisers, etc.
I'm typing this slowly so that you understand: promoting that we have the best graduation rates makes us more, not less, attractive to the best athletes.
