Let's remember the nearly unanimous sentiment two years ago that being able to walk in with Dayne Crist ready to go was a gift left by Charlie. Most would probably concede that at best, Crist stagnated, at worst, he regressed. Now, the apologist line is that Charlie left the cupboard bare. If Crist has a big year with Charlie, this will get even more laughable. I say that as someone who thought Crist was pretty horrible but I never had a problem with Charlie's development of the QBs. I'm sure Charlie will do a better job with Crist than Kelly did.

Chris's idea that Charlie did some kind of disservice to someone by telling Jimmy to go pro is also laughable. I would hope a coach gives his players advice that is in their best interests. Charlie did that. Should Charlie have told Jimmy to come back when it wasn't in his best interests? Get outta here and stop manufacturing excuses.
