Which decision in QB recruiting exactly was Weis's mistake?

2007 secured a commitment from the #1 rated QB and #1 overall rated QB.

2008 secured a commitment from the #2 rated QB and $25 overall rated QB.

2009 he pursued Aaron Murray (#3) and Tajh Boyd (#4). He was unable to secure a commitment from either. Perhaps because they didn't want to sit behind the two top recruits. Rather than pursuing Jon Budmayr (#17) very hard, he took a pass.

2010 he secured commitments from #13 Andrew Hendrix and #31 Tommy Rees before being fired. He pursued and lost out on #1 Jake Heaps, #22 Nick Montana, and #23 Austin Hinder.

So how exactly did he screw us? Jon Budmayr?
