1. Turnovers, that includes fumbles and interceptions. This has been discussed before. We simply cannot afford too many turnovers against Navy and any of the the other top rated teams on the schedule. BK should start out by calling some safe and high percentage completion pass plays to build-up EG and AH's confidence. According to a NCAA study, the team with the least turnovers generally wins the game. Let's not give away any more games.
2. Good field position. We need good returns of KOs and punts so that Golson and Hendrix start their drives on the ND 40, but not on the 20 or inside the 20. STs need to step up and start blocking the opposing teams gunners to create running lanes for our return backs. NO MORE FAIR CATCHES. Our punters and place kickers need to have a good day and keep Navy pinned back inside their 20.
3. Our D needs to stop cold the Navy running attack up the middle and force them to pass or end runs. Passing is their weakest suite and our corners will probably get tested early. If we force Navy to become a one-dimensional team, ND wins, if not it will be closer but ND will still prevail due to size and quality of players. I just hope we don't incur any injuries due to cut blocks.
ND 35 and Navy 14 - GO IRISH.
