David Grimes Doubtful for Washington
Author: Frankie V | Filed Under Notre Dame Football
Notre Dame will likely be without one of the top three wide receivers this weekend when the Irish travel to Seattle to take on Tyrone Willingham’s Washington Huskies. The senior offensive captain is battling a nagging back injury and is listed as doubtful by Charlie Weis.
David Grimes, you’ll have him tomorrow. He’s had this nagging back injury for a while, and I would list him as doubtful in this game, so when you get him tomorrow, I’m sure his status will probably still be in that same situation.
Should Grimes not be able to go, Duval Kamara and Robby Parris will see greater roles in the offense. Kamara had his best game of the season against North Carolina after a rather rough start to the season while Parris has only seen limited action this season.
With Kamara or Parris in the game, I wouldn’t be surprised to see either Michael Floyd of Golden Tate slide into the slot in a three wide receiver set since neither Kamara nor Parris are ideal slot receivers. Grimes absence, combined with what should be comfortable win could mean the season debut for junior wide receiver George West as well.

Kamara does not and will not thrill me until he gets some player attitude. It is no wonder they went away from him after his lack luster attempts at needed catches and a history of dropping balls.
