Great Day for Big East Basketball

As I’m sitting here waiting for Notre Dame and Seton Hall to tip off (thank you ESPN for the free weekend of ESPN Full Court) I’ve been enjoying a hell of a game between Villanova and Louisville.  As a Philadelphia homer, I’m a pretty big Villanova fan – except when they play the Irish – so this has been a pretty exciting game.  The Cardinals have opened 11 point leads in both halves so far, but Nova battled back and actually led by 1 point with less than a minute to go before missing a two footer and two tip shots in the final 4 seconds to lose by 1.  Nova was horrible at the line down the stretch including two misses with less than 10 seconds to go and should have won the game.

Anyway, here’s a quick glance at the full slate of Big East games going on today.

  • Providence at #10 Georgetown
  • Seton Hall at #13 Notre Dame
  • #21 Louisville at #17 Villanova
  • South Florida at DePaul
  • #5 UConn at Cincinnati
  • #9 Syracuse at  Rutgers
  • #22 West Virginia at #15 Marquette
