Notre Dame failed to advance to the Sweet 16 Saturday night after losing to Washington State 61-41.  The Cougars defense smothered the Irish offense into the single worst offensive performance of the Mike Brey Era.  Notre Dame’s 41 points were 23 points fewer than their previous season low of 64 against Baylor.

Big East rival Marquette went down to Purdue in overtime earlier tonight leaving the Big East 1-2 in second round action today with Pitt still playing against Michigan State.

Like football, a good defense will beat a good offense.

The Pac 10 has switched to Defense… The nation will will follow. 3 Teams in the sweeth 16.

Makes for less excitement, but it is what it is…

It’s like I was watching the Irish in one of our last 8 Bowl games. Very Disappointing. Man, this University is having a hard time winning the big ones. Thanks for the great year though Boys.
