Here’s some video courtesy of Yahoo/Rivals of frank Verducci working with the offensive line yesterday.  Based on the three minutes of video you can get a sense of what Sam Young was talking about when he said Verducci was a technician.  I’m going to try really hard not to get too excited about these videos this spring, but the fan in me sometimes can’t help it.  That said, the most encouraging aspect of this video to me is how good of a teacher Verducci appears to be for someone who came from the NFL the past two seasons.  It seems that Verducci hasn’t forgotten much from his experience at Iowa.

His attention to detail and teaching ability are very encouraging signs so far, but there is still a lot of work left to be done in order for Verducci to fix the OL.  That work starts tomorrow with live hitting.

this looks good now lets see this translate to big holes for the backs and “all-day protection” for Clausen.

It’s ok to get excited, just wear your parachute for a soft landing at the end of the season. Hopefully, you will land on 13-0 in the middle of ND stadium and we will take pictures.

    Goooooooooooooooooooo Irish!

I love the “put your knee in his crotch..suffocate him” statement.

Technique looks good. I still want to hear about some firey in your face, cream the other guy stuff. Aaron Taylor’s my man on that. don’t get me wrong, I’m very glad that Verducci is working to improve their technique. But I also want to hear some fire and brimstone, Sunday preacher kind of stuff that stands you hair up and gets you willing to charge a bunker like a marine.

Just looked at some film from I am still skeptical about the toughness of the Irish. The defense looks chippy if still a bit undersized upfront. If they go deep and are prepared, it may not matter. The offense better do a lot of work in summer practice. And there better be some hitting and more hitting by that offensive line.
