Loading ...Here’s another round of practice videos from around the web from the past few practices. Spotlighted in these videos are the wide receivers, defensive backs, and offensive line.
Irish Illustrated has a bunch of free videos posted from the last few days of practice. First up are the receivers. Note how big Shaquelle Evans looks for a freshman and how fluid Deion Walker looks in these drills. I could see the third receiver position coming down to these two if Kamara’s knee injury keeps him out any longer than the couple of weeks that Weis mentioned on Tuesday.
Next up is the offensive line. It’s tough to tell a whole lot from this video other than Braxston Cave looks like one big guy. Chris Stewart looks pretty big as well. I don’t remember the line running this drill in years past so this could be something new Frank Verducci has brought with him.
Lastly we have the secondary clip which ends with Corwin Brown clowning around with the defensive backs a bit. Apparently Corwin wants to reach the end zone at least once this fall.

Shaq looks awful good for a Freshman…..do I smell spread offense?

I don’t know about the spread offense Justin, but I do think we’ll see some actual 4 and dare I say 5 wide receiver sets this year that are made up of all wide receivers. Hopefully seeing 4 WR sets with a TE and a RB as the 3rd and 4th receivers will be a thing of the past.

Yeah, Shaq is huge for a freshman. How tall is he? Is he going to be a another Larry Fitzgerald, powerful receiver-style? Let’s hope.
ND may be becoming wide-receiver-U this decade!

Shaq is only 6′1 202lbs.. Walker, Floyd, and Goodman are all taller besides Walker the rest all weight more.

Shaq might weigh less than the other receivers, but he is built well for a freshman and looks ready to play.

Shaq might look like he’s ready to play, but you need to come to a realization that he isn’t going to beat out Goodman.. More than likely he’ll be redshirt..
IMO I rather have Walker than Goodman out there.
