While we got some disappointing news today with Tyler Gaffney picking Stanford over Notre Dame, we did get some good news when Clay HS wide receiver Daniel Smith made it official and committed to Notre Dame.
Smith received his offer to Notre Dame over the weekend and scheduled a press conference for Monday to announce his college decision so today’s news hardly comes as a surprise, but it is still nice to have Smith officially committed.
Scout already listed the local star as a four star wide receiver and is just one of only 20 wide receivers to receive any star ratings at this early juncture of the recruiting cycle for 2010.
I’ll have some more later after watching the Notre Dame-Marquette basketball game.

whenever you see kids commit this early to a school you know its because they grew up watching and dreaming of playing for them. i wish this kid the best of luck and nothing but success at notre dame. as for gaffney, i still like steve paskors and think he can be a pretty dynamicfb for us this year.

This smith kid looked good. I know this a highlight reel, but, some of those catches were unbelieveable.
