Blue chip wide receiver recruit Tai-ler Jones (6′0″, 175, 4.46) has narrowed his list of schools to seven and the Irish are among them according to ESPN.

ESPNU150 Watch List receiver Tai-ler Jones (Gainesville, Ga./Gainesville) told ESPN affiliate TotalUGA.com that he has a top seven of Ohio State, Notre Dame, California, North Carolina, Georgia, UCLA, California and Stanford.

Jones’s father is former Notre Dame linebacker Andre Jones which should give the Irish a bit of an edge.  Despite the Irish connection though, the younger Jones is not considered a lock for Notre Dame by any means.    Jones reportedly wants to make a decision before his senior season and could decide within the next few months.   Hopefully Weis can get him on campus for the Blue/Gold game next month.  Some video courtesy of Rivals/Yahoo below.

i read jones wants to commit on his birthday in April. Unfortunately im reading Georgia’s the team to beat, but it doesnt hurt our chances to get him on campus for a visit.

4.46 is slow? Anquan Boldin ran a 4.76 at the combine a few years back. Michael Floyd’s 40 time isn’t exactly blazing either.

40 times are probably the most overrated stat in recruiting.
