Troy Niklas surprised some by committing to Notre Dame on Signing Day in 2011. Niklas selected the Irish over rival USC giving Notre Dame arguably the best defensive line class in the country. Labeled a “Big Skill” position player by Brian Kelly, Niklas could play TE or DE for the Irish.
