Purdue Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Purdue's roller coaster-like season took another twist on Feb. 17 when coach Matt Painter dismissed junior guard/forward Kelsey Barlow from the program and suspended junior guard/forward DJ Byrd for one game after an incident outside a West Lafayette, Ind. campus-area bar.
Barlow, who was on a zero tolerance policy imposed by Painter after being suspended for the 2011 NCAA tournament for "conduct detrimental to the program," was asked to leave the bar after a confrontation inside the establishment. When he left the bar, Barlow realized he had left his wallet inside.
When Byrd asked a bouncer if he could go back inside and retrieve the wallet, the bouncer and Byrd got into a pushing and shoving match.

Robbie Hummel did everything he could to rally Purdue on Sunday. He just didn't have enough help. The fifth-year senior scored 24 points, had 15 rebounds and three assists, but No. 7 Michigan State shut down the short-handed Boilermakers in the second half and handed Purdue a potentially devastating 76-62 loss.
No. 7 Michigan St. holds off pesky Purdue 76-62 (AP)
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo called out his star player at halftime Sunday. Draymond Green's response exceeded even Izzo's expectations. Green scored 20 points, had 10 rebounds, seven assists and almost single-handedly shut down Purdue's Robbie Hummel in the second half, leading No. 7 Michigan State to a key 76-62 victory over the short-handed Boilermakers.
