Two Notre Dame commitments were honored Friday Night on the eve of the 2013 US Army All American Bowl.  Wide receiver Corey Robinson was named this year’s Glenn Davis Award winner while offensive lineman Steve Elmer was honored with the Anthony Munoz Lineman of the Year Award.

Robinson, the son of NBA legend David Robinson, is quickly making a name for himself in his sport.  Robinson has been a late riser in the ranks of high school wide receivers, but has been catching people’s attention all down in his hometown of San Antonio during practice.

Friday night Robinson continued to grab people’s attention when he was named this year’s Glenn Davis Award winner.  The award, handed out yearly, is given to the player on US Army All American Bowl’s West team that best exemplifies the US Army’s “high standard of excellence in community service, education, and athletic excellence” according to the award’s Wikipedia page.

The younger Robinson has come a long way from gaining his first scholarship offer from Notre Dame to not only being selected as one of the top wide receivers in the country for this weekend’s All-American bowl in San Antonio, but also taking home the Glenn Davis Award Friday night.

Robinson took to Twitter Friday night after winning the award.

Some notable past winners of this award include: Mark Sanchez, Ryan Mallet, Jeff Byers, and former Notre Dame quarterback, Dayne Crist.

Fellow Notre Dame commitment Steve Elmer was also a finalist for the award and while he was edged out by Robinson for the Glenn Davis Award, the elite lineman did not go home empty handed Friday night.  Elmer, Notre Dame’s first commitment in this year’s class, was named this year’s Anthony Munoz Lineman of the Year.

Elmer too was quick to hit Twitter after winning his award.

In just it’s fourth year, the Anthony Munoz Lineman of the Year Award is given out yearly to the best lineman at the US Army All American Bowl.  Past winners include Seantrel Henderson (the award’s inaugural winner), Ray Drew, and DJ Humphries.

Notre Dame fans can watch both Robinson and Elmer play for the West team tomorrow at 1:00 ET on NBC along with fellow Notre Dame commitment linebacker Jaylon Smith when they square off against future teammates running back Greg Bryant, offensive lineman John Montelus, and linebacker Doug Randolph
