Notre Dame began its inaugural season of ACC play with a 79-77 upset over Duke at home. The Irish were down by double digits in the 2nd half, but Eric Atkins tied the game at 60 with under 10 minutes to play. From there, Pat Connaughton and Garrick Sherman helped seal the Irish victory. Atkins led Notre Dame with 19 points and 11 assists. Rodney Hood scored 27 points for Duke in the loss.

Pat Connaughton sent the Joyce Center into a frenzy with this dunk against Duke. The junior drove down the lane for an incredible jam which helped the Irish grow its lead against the Blue Devils.

Notre Dame executed this inbounds play to perfection in the 1st half against Duke. Tom Knight broke off his defender, the bounce pass was accurate, and Knight finished the play with a nice jam.

  1. Great win for ND. It amazes me they can beat Duke and almost take down Ohio State, yet they lose to Indiana State and North Dakota State. But that seems to be the story of ND.

    Hopefully they can keep things going. I noticed Brey has been playing more players this year than he has in the past. Maybe the starters won’t be as exhausted come tournament time (whichever tournament they end up going to).
