LOIs for Cierre Wood and Shaquelle Evans In

The LOI’s for Cierre Wood and Shaquelle Evans have come in ensuring Notre Dame’s top two playmakers in this class have officially signed.

Cierre Wood signed at his high school this morning with his principal present and it sounds like his principal was pretty excited.

Wood signed at his high school, and his obviously-thrilled principal jumped on the phone line to talk about how excited the school is to have Wood coming to Notre Dame.

It sounds as if Evans is excited about signing his LOI as well according to UND.com’s official Signing Day blog.

“We’re delighted to have you, and I’m reading your name right now along the crawl on television. You’ll help us score some more points. We’re proud of you,” says Weis. On the letter of intent was the hand-written notation “Go Irish.”

It’s great to have all of the LOIs we were expected to get signed and delivered.  It would be even better though if we added a couple more this afternoon.

  1. Mr. TE’o please make it your mission to bring a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP to South Bend. We love you are here, WELCOME AND BEST WISHES!

  2. Yes, Shaq initially committed to USC. Carroll must be throwing something in his office right now! This year we should actually have a better LB crew than Usc thanks to Ray M. graduating to the NFL. Its been a while since ND could make that claim, which means absolutely nothing until
it translates to a victory over USC on the field.

  3. Jimmy needs to get better at reading the field, not zeroing in on one target, and getting rid of the ball under durress.
Thanks to a markedly improved offensive line. I am still concerned at RB. I wish Allen was the prominent back, but Chuck seems to like Hughes a bruiser without break away speed. Aldridge was a 5 star out of Illinois, lets not give up on him yet. I just think he needs to get a little mean streak in him. They say it takes 4 good classes in a row.
    GGGGOOOOOOO IRISHHHHHHHHHHH!!

  4. Te’o and Stockton have the potential to be big time players. The front 7 is finally getting the speed and beef it needs. We are on our way!

  5. Chris – things started happening a long time ago on offense. Need a more consistent offense from week to week.

  6. Hell Yeah!!! this just made my week!! very excited to see MANti in blue & gold, i hope / expect an immediate impact! good job CW, GO IRISH

  7. Relegate Chuck to the press box in a JoPa like role and hire a real offensive coordinator and things may finally start happening for the Irish –

  8. It’s a big get — great, great news. A big-time recruit picks ND over SC and UCLA. This is a great thing for the Irish.

We’re not national title contenders yet, but we’re on the mend. Things will work out. I am so glad we were able to grab Te’o. This should help the defense immensely — fairly quickly.

  9. yes – just caught it on USA Today –

Te’o to help Notre Dame defense

USA TODAY’s defensive player of the year in LB Manti Te’o, has announced that he signed a letter of intent to play for Charlie Weis and the Fighting Irish. He also was considering Southern California and UCLA. Te’o, out of Punahou (Honolulu) was the 12th-ranked overall recruit according to Rivals.com and adds immediate help to Notre Dame, a team looking to bolster its defense.
