Thursday Night Bowling

Just a quick note about how tonight’s Rutgets-Louisville game affects what bowl game we end up going to.  If Rutgers beats Louisville tonight, they will be 7-5 and will knock us out of the Sun Bowl which would have meant another bowl game against Oregon State.  If Rutgers is 7-5 though, the Sun Bowl can’t select the 6-6 Irish over the Scarlett Knights.  A win by Rutgers also prevents Louisville from becoming bowl eligible thus keeping a Big East Bowl spot open.

If Louisville ends up beating Rutgers tonight though, then the Sun Bowl remains a possibility and since it has the highest payout of any of the bowls Notre Dame could attend, its unlikely the Irish would turn them down.

I don’t know about you guys, but the thought of third bowl game against Oregon State since 2000 doesn’t excite me for a number of reasons – the biggest being that the Beavers ran all over USC and we just failed to gain 100 total yards on the Trojans.

  1. Amen, NorCal_Irish, its gets worse, they are all whinning to play Rice-A-Roni for a perceived save finish.

I wonder if they realize Rice is more than likely better than Syracuse?

  2. Charlie’s forth year and we are shuttering at the prospect of playing Oregon State in a bowl game. God help us.
