Two of USC’s most prominent players with eligibility left have made their decisions on whether or not to enter the NFL draft. Quarterback Mark Sanchez has decided to enter the draft and will not be back for USC in 2009. Superstar safety Taylor Mays, however, has decided to return for his senior season despite most likely being a first round pick in April’s draft.
With Sanchez gone, Aaron Corp and former #1 rated QB Mitch Mustain will battle it out for the starting quarterback spot along with incoming super recruit Matt Barkley this fall. All three were very highly touted recruits and all have a lot of talent so its unlikely the USC offense misses much of a beat.
Mays meanwhile would have been a big loss for USC since his is simply a physical freak of nature and one of the best safeties in all of college football. Props to Mays for coming back to finish off his career and degree for USC despite being a lock for a first round pick. USC’s defense was absolutely nasty this year, but will be replacing a lot of talent and experience at linebacker so it would have been nice if they had to replace Mays as well.
Notre Dame is and always will be the home to those who are insecure and afraid in life.

Either a sex offender from Fresno, or a person playing for the other team who is mad that Notre Dame stands for something. No class, no education, and no prospect for a successful life. Usually the worst ND haters are people whose lives are a complete failure and are lashing out at others for their own shortcomings.
Were this person to come in contact with people like Tim Brown, Allen Page, Lou Holtz, or even Pete Carroll, they would feel even worse about themselves. All the goings on at SC do make me wonder if there is hope for the Irish next year. Something truly is rotten in that program. everyone knows that mays is getting paid more at sc then he will in the pros although sanchez must not get paid that much because he is leaving!! i hate sc so much and i live in the heart sc country!! im about an hour and a half drive from sc from my house!! i have friends that went and go sc and have taken calsses with sc football players and one had a class with mark sanchez and she told me that he didnt belong in college and all he did was show up everyday and copy homework and tests…now im not saying that all of sc’s players are like him but im sure that stuff like that could never happen at ND!!

Ive seen Mays play 4 differnt games this year and he is good. Really good. I think Mays is setting a good example with getting his degree and not jumping ship. I dont mind if Dirty Sanchez leaves. USC will still be a top 5 team with either Corp or Mustain at the helms. I do realize that USC is probably paying Mays to stay but its cant be the Millions he would get in the NFL.
Yeah, and then maybe he could injure his own teammates like he almost did in the Rose Bowl or possibly seriously hurt another player. I actually love the way that kid plays. Receivers for the teams on USC’s schedule dont want to run across the middle of the field. Completely takes away 1/3 of the field. I wish ND could get a kid with his ability to hit.
