CJ Carr’s clearest message in ESPN’s visit with Rece Davis was about Notre Dame’s standard going into 2025. Asked about the team’s “leave no doubt” motto, Carr said it comes from the pain of last season and from not wanting to “leave your destiny up to somebody else.” He added, “It’s a reminder to us to come into this building every day and leave no doubt, put it all on the table, win every day, and then that will lead to the results we’re looking for.”
Carr also gave a pretty direct look at how he sees the program’s mindset. When Davis joked about leaving room for another Heisman, Carr answered, “As long as they left room for that national championship trophy, we’re good.” Later, describing how Notre Dame wants to play, he said, “We want to dominate. We want teams to not want to play the Fighting Irish.” On his own development, Carr said the biggest gains have come in “checkdowns and the progressions and the speed of the game,” along with greater comfort from reps and summer work with receivers.
