How to Watch Notre Dame Football vs. Stanford: Time, TV, Stream, and Odds for the Legends Trophy

Stanford comes to South Bend one week removed from a 57-3 loss at Wake Forest, and the betting market has priced that in. Notre Dame is favored by 37.5 points in its return home after two straight road games. The Irish are 5-0 after a 37-26 win at North Carolina that was their narrowest margin of the season.

Broadcast crew

Streaming without cable

After a Peacock-only game at Purdue and an ESPN broadcast in Chapel Hill, the Irish are back on NBC. Anything NBC airs from Notre Dame Stadium also runs live on Peacock, and you’ll need the Premium plan for live sports.

If you’d rather watch through a live-TV bundle, any service that carries your local NBC station will have it. Availability depends on your market, so check that your affiliate is included before the afternoon.

Weather

South Bend is in for an unusually warm October afternoon. The forecast calls for a high in the upper 70s and about a 10 percent chance of rain.

The stakes

This is the 40th meeting between the programs, and Notre Dame leads the all-time series 25-14. The Legends Trophy has stayed in South Bend for three straight years since Stanford’s 16-14 upset at Notre Dame Stadium in 2022, and the Irish won those three games by a combined 154-50, most recently 49-20 at Stanford last November.

Stanford is 2-3 in Tavita Pritchard’s first season as head coach. Two weeks ago, Davis Warren, the former Michigan starter, rallied the Cardinal past Georgia Tech with 396 passing yards. The offense has disappeared every time Stanford has lost, though. Miami held it to 6 points, Duke to 7, and Wake Forest to 3. Stanford hasn’t won a road game in 13 tries, which is now the longest such skid in program history.

Against North Carolina, Notre Dame’s ground game had its best day of the year with 241 yards. Freshman Jonaz Walton accounted for 120 of them. CJ Carr was responsible for five touchdowns, four through the air and one on the ground. The Irish travel to BYU next week.
