Notre Dame earned their first win of the season on Saturday in a 24-17 victory over Cal. The Irish defense racked up six sacks and had multiple turnovers wiped off the board by penalty or replay, while the offense showed a pulse but still looked like it was searching for answers and an identity. Still, the Irish delivered the first win of the Marcus Freeman era.
If you start adding up the offenses stats for the game AFTER possession four, you will see that it is not just the defense that won this game.
