Notre Dame walked out of a rain-soaked Kenan Stadium at 5-0, beating North Carolina 37-26 for its second straight road win. Jordan Faison caught two touchdown passes from CJ Carr, the first on a second-and-short throw into the end zone, the second a deep shot he came down with wide open and secured through contact with the ground. Carr added a touchdown of his own, buying time on a free play after a flag and diving in.
The defense took the ball away twice from Billy Edwards. Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa picked off a throw after Edwards got his arm hit under pressure, and the second interception came when Edwards looped a ball downfield for Ship into the waiting arms of Luke Talich. Notre Dame dominated the second half again, the same script that has carried this 5-0 start.
- Carr also slipped a touchdown throw to Nolan James on the near side.
- A 13-play Notre Dame drive ended with Walton breaking outside and cutting back inside the 10 for first-and-goal at the 3.
- The win is Notre Dame’s fifth of the season and leaves North Carolina at 2-2.
