The initial rumors of Zach Auguste being lost for the season proved to be wildly wrong on Saturday when Notre Dame announced that the junior would dress and play in this afternoon’s contest against Miami.

Auguste had missed Wednesday’s game against Georgia Tech.  Head coach Mike Brey said that Auguste needed to stay in South Bend to address some academic work but was not suspended.

Auguste is a big reason why the Irish have already surpassed their win total from last season.  He is averaging 14.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, knocking down an incredible 65.3% of his field goals for the 12th ranked Fighting Irish.  Notre Dame will take its 16-2 (4-1 ACC) record into today’s game against upset minded Miami.  The Hurricanes upset Duke earlier this week and will give the Irish all they can handle this afternoon making Auguste’s return very timely.
