Notre Dame football’s training camp is still a few weeks away, but the Irish will be giving fans something to get excited about (and undoubtedly complain about) tomorrow.  Notre Dame announced on Wednesday night via social media that the 2016 Shamrock Series uniforms will be unveiled tomorrow at 6:30 ET.

The Shamrock Series jerseys, uniforms, and helmets are a hot topic every year.  Rarely has the entire fan base universally liked any of the Shamrock Series special uniforms.  The younger fans love the crazier designs.  The older fans roll their eyes and complain that the recruiting benefit of the special jerseys is overstated and overblown.

One thing has been fairly certain with the uniforms though is the players have raved about them every year – especially the last two years since Under Armour has been tasked with the designs.

This year’s Shamrock Series returns to its origins in San Antonio where the Irish will take on Army in the Alamodome.  The teaser video and the opponent hint at some sort of military inspired design but we won’t know for certain until tomorrow.

  1. UM YEAH!!!!

ENOUGH WITH UNDER ARMOUR. ALL THEIR DESIGNS STINK.
    SO OVER HYPED

COME ON IRISH SCRAP THIS DESIGN

  2. Comment from a 72 year old man who went to Notre Dame (did not graduate) in the 60s and who served his country overseas and who lost friends in Vietnam and aboard the Liberty:

The uniforms are hideous, they are tasteless, and the promo video only serves to emphasize a point I occasionally make here – Notre Dame does many things well, but humble is not one of them.

And that’s not good for an institution that advertises itself as Catholic.

  3. It should resume back in 2018. Swarbrick mentioned wanting to maximize as many home games as possible inside Notre Dame Stadium in 2017 since the Campus Crossroads Project will be completed by then.
