Boston Bruins Unveil Awesome Notre Dame Inspired Goalie Mask

Notre Dame fans have a lot to preoccupy themselves with these days as the Irish prepare for tomorrow’s College Football Playoff showdown with Clemson in the Cotton Bowl.  For a nice little distraction today as we all countdown the minutes until kickoff tomorrow though, the Boston Bruins unveiled an awesome, Notre Dame inspired goalie mask for their goaltender Tuukka Rask for their Winter Classic contest inside Notre Dame Stadium on January 1.

The mask not only features the iconic Play Like a Champion Today sign on the back, but also a stylized Notre Dame Leprechaun decked out in Boston Bruin’s gear.

Here’s a closer look at the mask that Rask will be wearing.

Even if you are not a fan of the Bruins, and as a diehard Flyers fan I certainly am not, this mask is pretty cool.  Considering the Bruins are playing the Chicago Blackhawks, I am sure there are a bunch of conflicted Notre Dame fans looking at this goal mask right about now.  Even a Blackhawk fan of the Fighting Irish has to tip their cap to the Bruins and Rask for this design.
