Rumors Floating Around at 11th Hour Regarding Chris Little, Ian Williams
(UHND.com) – Just when it appeared things were pretty much settled on the recruiting front for this year, rumors have spread around the internet like wild fire that Notre Dame is in danger of losing two of its 20 commitments at the last minute. Rumors are circulating that both Ian Williams and Chris Little may indeed be wavering and might not end up faxing a letter of intent Notre Dame’s way Wednesday morning.
Both Williams and Little have been speculated about for the past month in regards to how strong they were with their decisions, but up until today it appeared both were ready to sign with the Irish with little problems. Rumors popped up tonight, however, that Williams may be considering Florida again and Little may be considering Georgia.
Should this be the case, Notre Dame would be losing two very important recruits. Williams especially is a very important recruit for the Irish as their only true defensive tackle. I have a hard time believing Williams would end up at Florida with all of their other defensive line recruits when he could immediately crack the two deep at Notre Dame. I had a hard time believing the nation’s top wide receiver would catch passes for a quarterback who only completed a little over 40% of his passes last year too though.
As for Little, his recruitment has been strange to say the least so nothing would really surprise me. Little committed to Florida State at the All American Bowl only to change his commitment to Notre Dame a few days later after he realized his heart was at Notre Dame. Little has some serious potential and is a USA Today All American. Losing him would indeed be a big loss.
I feel much better about Williams than Little for the simple fact that Williams will have a major opportunity to make an immediate impact at Notre Dame. With the Notre Dame defensive line situation what it is, he would indeed be a big fish in small pond instead of a little fish in big pond with all of the defensive linemen the Gators have brought in this year.
However this turns out, we’ll know in the very near future as the Notre Dame press conference for Signing Day is less than 12 hours away.
I for one can’t wait for this recruiting season to end as it has been the single most up and down, nerve racking road to Signing Day since UHND.com has been around on the internet.
