Notre Dame had a very special spectator at Saturday’s Hawaii Bowl practice – linebacker ubber recruit Manti Te’o according to KGMB9 of Honolulu.
One of the main spectators for Notre Dame’s practice on Saturday was Punahou’s all-world linebacker and Fighting Irish recruit Manti Teo.
The senior hasn’t made a decision for college just yet, but he says it was good to reunite with some of the friends he made on his recruiting trip to South Bend.
There’s also a nice video on KGMB9’s website with an interview with Te’o.
It would be a small miracle if Weis was able to land Te’o after the show the Irish put on during his visit for the Syracuse game, but it appears as though we’re still very much alive and have a very real chance here.
IF, and it’s a big IF, we can keep Tenuta and Brown, ND could become a defensive force. Any offensive oriented head coach coming in would need to keep them. That means the University would need to negotiate a package independent of Weis, possibly offering head coach to one of those two, unless Chris Peterson or Kyle Whittingham want to keep them. If that were all to occur, I’d come to ND if I were a defensive stud.
