Toben Opurum to Kansas
Notre Dame lost out on fullback recruit Toben Opurum Tuesday when the four star back committed to Kansas over Notre Dame and Purdue among others.
Opurum got some attention from the Irish later in the process after it looked like Tyler Gaffney was out of play, but it seems like the Irish are still very much alive for Gaffney. Still, Opurum would have been a nice addition to this class especially since Gaffney is by no means a lock or even a lean for Notre Dame at this time.
Rivals ranks Opurum as the #3 fullback in the country – Gaffney is ranked 4th.
Hopefully this news bodes well for our chances with Gaffney because it sure would be nice to have a dynamic fullback who can run the ball and be a threat receiving it out of the backfield.
