Notre Dame a 3 Seed in Kentucky’s Bracket
Following its triumph in the ACC Tournament, Notre Dame vaulted itself to a #3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. ACC Digital Network host Jeff Fischel and former UNC standout Jason Capel break down Notre Dame’s road to Indianapolis, which would run through undefeated Kentucky, who owns the top seed in the tournament.

Don’t get me wrong. Duke is a good team. But one of the 4 coveted top seeds. Kentucky, Wisconsin and Villanova all had great records and won their conferences. Duke had a good record, but won neither the conference title or the regular season title. ND still did beat them 2 out of 3 times (including the critical semi-final game in the ACC tournament). Now I’m not saying ND should be a 1 seed, but neither should Duke. When it counted most, they didn’t get the job done.
Duke is an enigma. Dis them and they’ll be successful. Praise them and they’ll disappoint. (like their record, in comparison) Me? I just respect them and let the kids play the games.
Gee I don’t know. They won at Virginia, at Wisconsin, at Louisville and at UNC. They also beat ND by 20. Seem terrible to me.
I have to agree about Duke. There is definitely bias toward some teams by the selection teams. I don’t really have a problem with ND having a 3 seed (though a 2 seed could be argued for as well). But Duke a 1 seed. They neither won the ACC tournament championship or regular season championship. And ND beat them 2 out of 3 times. Should they really be placed above BOTH Virginia and Notre Dame?
