Notre Dame exorcised a lot of demons regarding Stanford on Saturday night in a convincing 38-17 victory to cap off a perfect September. The Irish not only snapped a three game losing streak to the Cardinal, but they did so by reversing the script that Stanford used to get the better of the Irish over the last few seasons.
Powered by new starting quarterback Ian Book’s four passing touchdowns and Dexter Williams 161 yards on the ground, the Irish offense kept the Stanford defense on it heals. The Notre Dame defense rose to the occasion as well with five sacks of Stanford quarterback KJ Costello – four of which came from Jerry Tilley.
We all will be enjoying this one for a long time, but for now enjoy these highlights because they have been a long time coming.
