In a game that looked like it was going to be a shootout after the first 5 possessions of the game, the Notre Dame defense stepped up their game and kept an explosive North Carolina offense in check for the rest of the game. The Fighting Irish’s defense had six sacks, eight tackles for loss, and held the Tar Heels offense to just a field goal after their first two possessions.
