Brian Kelly said changes are coming personnel wise but as expected, we will have to wait until Saturday to see what they are after the weekly depth chart came out identical to last week’s.  Brian Kelly was asked about the potential changes on Tuesday but didn’t offer a whole lot of insight into what we may see.

Kelly did give some hints about what be on the horizon – he called out Jay Hayes and Asmar Bial on defense as two players who need to be on the field more.  Dexter Williams has come up many times since the weekend after Kelly said the sophomore was the only player to play with fire and passion against Duke.  Williams is not listed on the running back depth chart at this time though.

Kelly did joke that maybe Quenton Nelson could play nose tackle but that is not a change in personnel we’ll see this weekend.

Yesterday I speculated on some potential changes that we could see but it looks like it’ll be a few more days until we see just how much change Brian Kelly has in mind.

Pete Fiutak, College Football News: “Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly is making in the neighborhood of $4 million a year and recently signed an extension through 2021, but he’s now 1-3 after an inexcusable loss to Duke at home. That means he’s going to lose three games or more for the fourth straight season and for the sixth time in his unremarkable seven-year tenure. While Ohio State managed to stay fantastic despite returning just six starters, and Alabama is No. 1 again after losing its entire offensive backfield and several key parts of a national champion, the Fighting Irish continue to fumble along in a hazy malaise of extreme over-averageness. And now, with that 1-3 start, Notre Dame is the worst possible thing of all – totally irrelevant for the rest of the 2016 college football season.”
