How to Watch Notre Dame Football at BYU: Time, TV, Stream, and Odds for a Top-10 Night in Provo
Notre Dame hasn’t played in Provo since BYU beat it there to open the 2004 season. The Irish go back tonight as the No. 2 team in the country to square off against the #8 ranked, unbeaten Cougars. LaVell Edwards Stadium has never hosted a game between two top-10 teams, and ESPN thought enough of this one to send College GameDay to campus instead of the other top-10 showdown of the day – Ohio State and Indiana.
Here’s everything you need to get the game on.

Broadcast crew
Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit are on the call. Herbstreit spent his Friday calling Notre Dame’s schedule an “embarrassment” on clips that went viral but will refrain from picking a winner during Gameday as to remain “unbiased.” Herbstreit ought to just make a pick during Gameday after yesterday.
College GameDay runs from 9 a.m. to noon ET on ESPN out of Provo. Former BYU quarterback Steve Young is the guest picker.
Streaming without cable
This is a road game on ABC, so Peacock won’t have it this week. If you have cable or satellite, ABC is on your local channel, and the ESPN app will stream it once you sign in with your provider.
Without cable, you’ll need a live-TV service that includes your local ABC station. Lineups vary by market, so make sure ABC is in your package before 7:30.
Weather
Provo has a clear, dry day ahead with a high around 70 and no rain in the forecast. Once the sun goes down it will cool off quickly, with temperatures headed toward the upper 30s overnight.
The stakes
Notre Dame leads the all-time series 7-2. The teams last met in 2022 in Las Vegas, where the Irish won 28-20, and BYU’s 20-17 win here in 2004 is the last time the Cougars beat Notre Dame.
Last year’s playoff field was set without either of these teams, and both came up just short of the cut. Notre Dame’s winning streak sits at 16 games after last Saturday’s 58-7 rout of Stanford. Jonaz Walton ran for 181 yards in that one, 97 of them on a single carry, and CJ Carr threw three touchdown passes on just 20 attempts as the Irish piled up 598 yards.
BYU is 5-0 after beating Iowa State 24-10 last Friday, and until this week the Cougars had been favored in every game. Tonight opens a home-and-home series, with BYU due in South Bend next season.
