Notre Dame Grabs 5 Star OL for 2010

Notre Dame picked up its first commitment for 2010 today in Christian Lombard – a 5 star offensive tackle from Illinois. Lombard had offers from virtually everyone and will be on everyone’s top 100 lists next year.

Considering our lack of success recruiting offensive tackles this year outside of Zach Martin, this is outstanding news.  Lombard will be the highest rated offensive lineman the Irish have received a commitment from since Sam Young three years ago.

The class of 2010 has quite a few elite prosepcts which the Irish appear to be in the driver’s seat for early in the process and Lombard was one of them.  If Weis can right the ship and get Notre Dame back in the Top 10 next year, we could see another banner year in recruiting like last year’s top rated class.

This was a huge first commitment for the Irish which could give us a little momentum in rounding out this year’s class as well.

Any ND recruit should consider the educational value of an ND degree. Real classes, with real profs, other real students and real work.

also consider the alternative. If all you are about is playing football, then hope you get to the NFL and don’t end up like a famous Trojan, Todd Marinovich, last seen on the beach in LA, taking heroin, no joke.

Definitely read the first two articles. And on the second article, read the whole way down.

does anyone know what are chances are with Jenkins, he seemed to me most likely to commit to Notre Dame between him and Teo, but it doesn’t appear as if the Irish are really recruiting him that hard. other than that 2009 has the makings of a great year both on the field and recruiting. hopefully Anthony Barr commits next

i would easily settle for one. But i have been reading lately that Teo will probably go on a two year mission after his frosh year

I dont think Teo or Jelani Jenkins are announcing until close to signing day. It would be so great to get both of these backers!

Any word on Teo or is he keeping it pretty quiet?

Can you maybe put an update up as to how our recruits did today in the army AA game? I missed most of the game and didn’t see any stats. Maybe even a little video. Thanks.
