Spencer Boyd Announcing Friday, Irish a Finalist
Florida cornerback Spencer Boyd is announcing his college decision on Friday and Notre Dame is a finalist according to Jamie Newberg of Rivals.com
“It’s down to Michigan, Notre Dame and Georgia and I will make my decision on Friday,” Boyd said.
“I love coach Rod (Rich Rodriguez) and his staff. They are real cool. They joke around and make me laugh. That’s a place where I will have a chance to play early. It’s also a real nice place. It’s bigger than Notre Dame and they have more students.
“I can play early at Notre Dame as well. They have a nice campus too. When I went there I had that feeling. They are good people and that coaching staff knows what it takes to get to next level because they have been there.”

Boyd is a three star prospect on both Rivals and Scout, but has a nice offer list which includes scholarships from Miami, Michigan, Gerogia, and North Carolina. With Lo Wood already committed to Notre Dame, Boyd would be the second cornerback in this class after Notre Dame signed just one, EJ Banks, last year.
If Boyd ends up selecting Notre Dame, the Irish would not be done recruiting the position for this year with highly regarded prospects Cody Riggs and Josh Shaw still heavily considering Notre Dame as well. Boyd would be the second corner in this class from the state of Florida joining fellow Floridian Lo Wood. Riggs hails from the Sunshine State as well and it would thrill all Notre Dame fans if the Irish could land the Florida trio.
No time is set for Boyd’s announcement according to the Rivals report so check back on Friday to find out if Notre Dame lands commitment #13.

Interesting, more attacking so-called ND fans, Frankie are we in Russia??
yes, he is a 3 star but he is the best three star DB according to rivals, so if these teams want him so bad, he must be good! plus we are still after another really good DB, this class is looking solid so far! GO IRISH!
Boyd is all Irish! I honestly don’t care about the star system. I look at more of who is recruiting the kid. If Georgia, Michigan, and Miami as well as ND then I think Boyd is a great recruit for ND.
I hope he commits. We will need all the help at corner after this year.
I also cant wait to see all the so-called ND fans who will complain about recruiting a 3 star player.
