Highlights from Notre Dame Football’s 9th Spring Practice

Notre Dame returned to the practice field on Thursday for their 9th practice of the spring season in 2021. Joe Wilkins continues to look good. We get a glimpse of Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa at DE and some interesting pass-rush packages. Michael Mayer continues to be the ultimate security blanket for every single quarterback. 1. Yes, indeed, Burgy . . .Somogyi was the man with NDs stats on hand moreso than any other. His analysis and grasp of anything ND football were certainly among, if not, the best.
Also RIP Purdue’s LeRoy Keyes. On a personal note, Keyes was the guy that ran back a 90-something fumble return during the Hanratty-Seymour debut in ’66 when I was at my first ever ND football game. After ND driving down the field (who were these new Soph starters at QB and WR?) and then the return fumble by Keyes, ND fell behind 7-0 early. Then Nick Eddy returned the following kickoff for a TD and the ’66 team was on its way to that national championship season.

    2. Shocking, sad news.
Lou’s legacy will be one of having provided insights and thoughtful opinion on ND athletics.
