So the first thing to settle before this afternoon’s kickoff in West Lafayette is whether your subscription is active. The Irish arrive 3-0 and favored by 27.5 points, and they have won 10 straight in the series, including a 66-7 blowout the last time they made this trip in 2024. Purdue is 1-2 and gave up 52 points at UCLA a week ago

The stakes

This is the 90th meeting between the in-state rivals, and Notre Dame leads the all-time series 61-26-2. The Shillelagh Trophy has gone to the winner since 1957. The Irish won last year’s game 56-30 in South Bend.

Notre Dame has allowed 23 points through three games after beating Wisconsin, Rice, and Michigan State, most recently 27-10 over the Spartans. A win would give Marcus Freeman his first unbeaten September as a head coach. Purdue has dropped two straight, losing to Wake Forest in double overtime before the loss at UCLA.
