Notre Dame Football Highlights: Irish Escape With Win Over Hokies

It wasn’t pretty and it wasn’t as easy as it could have been, but at the end of the day, at least it was a victory.  Notre Dame followed up last week’s beatdown in Ann Arbor with an uninspiring effort against unranked Virginia Tech.  They had a chance to make this game a comfortable victory, but instead needed a last-minute drive to take the lead with less than a minute remaining.  Again, it was anything but pretty, but at least it was a win to push Notre Dame to 6-2 with four games remaining.

We’ll have plenty more on this one when we figure out exactly what to say. For now, here are the highlights.

  1. I’ll tame a W over a L anytime, but as you appropriately noted Frank it was uninspiring and could have
much easier. It is a win which will guarantee Book continuing to start, perhaps for the remainder of the
season. He nice again proves he is a good enough qb to lead wins unranked opponents, but not that
    against ranked ones. Like Kelly.

I first thought BK was sticking with Book because pulling a winning captain qb doesn’t send a positive
message to elite qb recruits, but he did that with Wimbush. So here’s my new mindset. Maybe, Jukovec is not that much better to risk sending that message.
not that much better to take the risk of sending that message.
