Highlights from Notre Dame’s 27-13 Victory Over Duke to Start 2020

It wasn’t always pretty, but it was football none the less and right now can any of us ask for anything more? Well, Michigan fans can, but that’s their problem. The Irish kicked off their season with a season opener that was a bit sloppier than normal considering the Irish didn’t have a spring ball that ended with a victory none the less.

Notre Dame, playing in their first conference game of all-time, beat Duke 27-13 behind the play of its defense and the running of sophomore Kyren Williams. More to come on this one, but for now, here are the highlights.

  1. I try to be as objective as I can so here is my analysis from the game yesterday. Defense played pretty well. Need to clean up the tackling and had some breakdowns in secondary. Front 4 got good pressure on Brice mich of the game. Players who stood out to mf on defense Hamilton, Foxkey Hinish, wosu. Special teams were very good, Doer 2 for 2 field goals punt and kickoff coverage good. Tyree looked good returning kickoffs. Keys caught the ball well. I thought he could have ran a couple of times. Now the offense. I m not panicking yet but there were a lot of things I didnt like. First I thought the playcalling was bad . Only 1 shot down the field running the ball into the boundary way too much. Book made some nice throws but the missed throw on th screen that was a huge gainer and the interception after William’s run really hurt. Yes he was playing without his 2 best receivers. They need Lenzy in the lineup to open up the passing game. He k I would even put in 5 star Jordsn Johnson. Offense players who looked really good Myren William’s, Tyree Mayer Joe Wilkens avery davis. Hopefully we see big improvement in Notrrdame next week especially on offense.
