Jordan Faison said Notre Dame’s two fast-strike touchdowns were a product of getting the right looks and finishing the week’s work on Saturday. “Both touchdowns, obviously, play call was good by Coach Denbrock,” Faison said. “Got the right defense we wanted, and then the execution we put in throughout the week.” CJ Carr echoed that, calling the offense’s first-quarter efficiency “easy” football and saying the group felt “really consistent” while the line kept him clean.
The defense set the tone before the offense ever had to settle in. Carr called Adon Shuler’s early hit “unbelievable,” and Boubacar Traore’s scoop-and-score gave Notre Dame immediate control. Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa said the Irish’s emphasis on ball disruption in practice showed up with the fumble recoveries, while Traore said the standard now is simple: “We got to play like that every week.” Faison also credited Marcus Freeman for cutting off any complacency before kickoff.

- Viliamu-Asa dedicated the game to injured teammates Brauntae Johnson and Jason Onye.
- Traore said Rodney Dunham stood out among the young defenders, “hitting anything moving” in his opportunities.
